Class Survives First American's Bid To Decertify

Law360, New York (August 16, 2010, 12:35 PM ET) -- A federal judge has rejected First American Title Insurance Co.'s move to decertify a class of policyholders who claim the insurer overcharged them for residential title insurance policies.

Judge Joy Flowers Conti of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania rejected on Friday the insurance company's claim that the class was certified on a false premise, but she left the door open for the class to be altered in the future.
