Law360, New York (August 30, 2010, 11:32 AM ET) -- A federal judge has thrown out a $900 million putative class action brought by domestic agricultural groups that alleged the U.S. government was negligent in collecting anti-dumping duties covered by surety bonds issued to Chinese importers.
Judge Timothy Stanceu of the U.S. Court of International Trade ruled Friday that the suit did not raise a right to relief from the government, saying the claims filed by the plaintiffs — an alliance of honey, garlic, mushroom and crawfish producers — were speculative.
