Fen-Phen Lawyer Indicted For Insurance Fraud

Law360, New York (January 12, 2011, 2:21 PM ET) -- A Kentucky grand jury has indicted Melbourne Mills Jr., the disbarred attorney who represented plaintiffs in a $200 million class action settlement over the dangerous diet drug fen-phen, on a fraudulent insurance act charge.

The one-count Fayette County felony indictment Tuesday stems from allegations that Mills fudged a portion of his application to renew a $5 million professional liability policy he had with Continental Casualty Co., according to his attorney, James A. Shuffett.
