Cigna Worker Launches $100M Sex Bias Action

Law360, New York (March 03, 2011, 5:50 PM ET) -- A Cigna Healthcare Inc. employee filed a class action in Massachusetts on Thursday seeking $100 million for women who have allegedly suffered systemic sex discrimination working for the health insurer.

Bretta Karp accused Cigna of violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and state law in a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts by David W. Sanford, Kristen L. Walsh and Catharine Edwards of Sanford Wittels & Heisler LLP.
