Law360, New York (May 03, 2011, 8:32 PM ET) -- The chair of the House Natural Resources Committee on Monday subpoenaed plaintiffs’ counsel handling the $3.4 billion settlement of a Native American landowner class action, ordering them to produce documents related to their requested $223 million legal fee.
Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., told Keith Harper of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP and Dennis Gingold, class counsel in the so-called Cobell case, to turn over fee arrangements and other materials involving their compensation in the nearly 15-year-old matter.
