Pfizer Dodges More Sanctions In Neurontin Antitrust MDL

Law360, New York (July 07, 2011, 3:44 PM ET) -- A magistrate judge refused Tuesday to sanction Pfizer Inc. by striking its denial that it promoted off-label uses of epilepsy drug Neurontin, the latest in a New Jersey multidistrict litigation claiming the drugmaker used patent litigation to delay generic competition.

Magistrate Judge Patty Shwartz rejected requests by the class action plaintiffs that the federal court consider their off-label use allegations as established and block Pfizer from presenting evidence or arguments to the contrary.
