Law360, New York (July 13, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A class of over 4,000 retired Caterpillar workers and their spouses has been certified in a lawsuit that accuses the construction equipment maker of denying medical benefits in violation of its union contracts.
In her order granting the plaintiffs' motion for class status, Judge Aleta Trauger said, “The court finds that the named plaintiffs share a keen interest in declaring the rights of the entire class to vested, lifetime health care benefits under the 1988 agreements and plans.”
