Law360, New York (December 23, 2011, 1:16 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge ruled Thursday that the Iranian government, Hezbollah, the Taliban and al-Qaida were liable for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in a multidistrict litigation brought by the victims’ family members.
U.S. District Judge George Daniels entered default judgment in favor of the plaintiffs, finding that top Iranian officials and state agencies gave al-Qaida assistance that helped it carry out the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
