Law360, New York (March 21, 2012, 4:36 PM ET) -- Securities fraud class actions lodged against life sciences companies dropped by more than 40 percent in 2011, fueled by a decline of suits stemming from the global financial crisis, according to a Dechert LLP report released Tuesday.
The annual report said 17 securities fraud class actions were filed against pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies and their officials and directors in 2011, down from 29 in 2010.
