Calif. Judge To Deny Class Cert. In Time Warner OT Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (May 08, 2012, 9:27 PM ET) -- A California state judge on Tuesday indicated that he would deny class certification in a wage-and-hour action against Time Warner Cable LLC, which also is accused of shortchanging commissions for its Spanish-speaking sales representatives.

Judge John L. Segal said named plaintiff Michael Chavez has provided no evidence that Time Warner has a statewide policy denying timely payment of its worker's wages after their employment has ended, as the lawsuit claims.
