Geek Squad Accuses Best Buy Of Wage And Hour Violations

Law360, New York (May 09, 2012, 6:00 PM ET) -- Best Buy Stores LP is forcing its Geek Squad and home theater installers to work off-the-clock and without rest periods, according to a class action the gadget retailer removed to California federal court Monday.

Geek Squad employees were required to log in to the payroll system on outdated laptops that took 30 minutes to boot up and shut down, according to plaintiff Chris Bonnel’s suit, originally filed in Alameda Superior Court on May 4.
