Farmers Insurance Gets Class Trimmed In Med-Pay Suit

Law360, New York (June 08, 2012, 1:52 PM ET) -- A Colorado federal judge on Wednesday knocked out part of a proposed class in a lawsuit accusing Farmers Insurance Exchange of refusing to pay reasonable and necessary medical expenses on its auto insurance policies.

One of three proposed subclasses — for those whose claims were partly denied as untimely under a two-year policy limitation — was removed from the suit by U.S. District Judge Robert E. Blackburn, who said the time limit did not violate Colorado law.
