Towing Co. Settles ADA Suit After Judge Backs EEOC Methods

Law360, New York (June 26, 2012, 10:31 PM ET) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Monday said United Road Towing Inc. has agreed to settle the agency's disability discrimination claims, resolving a case an Illinois judge previously had refused to dismiss in a ruling the agency said validated its investigation tactics.

Under the terms of a consent decree entered by U.S. Judge Ruben Castillo on Wednesday, the company will pay $380,000 to 13 claimants to resolve the suit. The decree also prohibits United Road from discriminating against the disabled and mandates the implementation of...
