Scientific-Atlanta, Motorola Beat Fraud Claims In Adelphia MDL

Law360, New York (August 08, 2012, 10:29 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday dismissed cable conversion box makers Scientific-Atlanta Inc. and Motorola Inc. from a suit in a multidistrict litigation targeting financial institutions over their alleged role in the collapse of Adelphia Communications Corp.

In an one-page order, U.S. District Judge Lawrence M. McKenna dismissed the conspiracy to defraud claims brought by investment adviser W.R. Huff Asset Management Co. LLC on behalf of Adelphia bondholders, referencing his 2009 decision in another suit in the MDL that had also targeted Scientific-Atlanta and Motorola....
