Ex-Loan Officers Hit Regions Bank With OT Pay Suit

Law360, New York (September 07, 2012, 5:10 PM ET) -- Two former loan officers have accused Regions Bank of failing to pay proper overtime to a nationwide class of loan officers, according to a proposed collective action filed in Alabama federal court on Thursday.

Plaintiffs Beverly Starnes and Faye Phillips claim that Regions’ policy of paying commissions instead of wages and its classification of loan officers as exempt from overtime pay violate the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
