Law360, New York (January 15, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Although it is still a fairly new law, the Class Action Fairness Act of 2005 continued to have a significant impact on employment litigation in 2007, according to a report by Seyfarth Shaw LLP employment attorneys.
The firm’s fourth Annual Workplace Class Action Litigation Report indicated that CAFA, which changed the methods through which a defendant can remove a case filed in state court to federal district court, had a particular impact on wage-and-hour class actions filed in state court.
