Google Hit With Class Action Over 'Parked Domain' Ads

Law360, New York (July 18, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The world's largest search engine, Google Inc., was hit with a lawsuit Friday by disgruntled users of the company's AdWords advertising program, who argued that they could not distinguish between valid clicks and invalid clicks from “parked domains.”

Parked domains are registered Internet domains with site information not actually associated with any real service. If they are “monetized,” the Web site attached to the domain will usually show advertisements.
