Law360, New York (March 13, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Medical-device sterilization company Steris Corp. has settled a class action by former workers who claimed the company unlawfully curtailed the lifetime medical benefits guaranteed under their collective bargaining agreement.
Judge Dan Aaron Polster of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio on Thursday certified a class of 700 retirees and spouses and granted preliminary approval of the settlement, which reinstates lifetime retiree health insurance to class members.
