Law360, New York (April 01, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- A former McGowan Insurance Group employee has filed a putative class action against the company alleging that it charged female employees higher premiums for health insurance in violation of the Equal Pay Act.
Joy Vrabec, a former account executive at McGowan, filed the suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, alleging that she and similarly situated female employees received benefits plans that were of lesser monetary value than those of male co-workers.
