A state district court in San Antonio received attention last year when a jury awarded HouseCanary Inc., a home valuation startup, a staggering $706.2 million, which became $740 million after prejudgment interest and attorney fees. The judgment is the largest ever in Bexar County and larger than the verdicts that caused Apple Inc. to up and leave the jurisdiction of the Eastern District of Texas, known for its costly and frequent patent lawsuits.[1]...
