Law360, New York (October 29, 2009, 5:33 PM ET) -- Designer denim brand People’s Liberation Inc. is suing Charlotte Russe Merchandising Inc. after a $60 million deal to distribute its higher-priced clothing exclusively through the retailer’s 500 stores went sour.
People’s Liberation filed the breach of contract and fraud complaint Tuesday in the Los Angeles Superior Court, accusing Charlotte Russe of backing out of the contract after it realized customers of the traditionally low-cost store wouldn’t pay higher prices for the People’s Liberation brand.
