$10.5M Arbitration Award For Bayer Stands In Coal Suit

Law360, New York (June 03, 2010, 1:54 PM ET) -- A federal judge has rejected Massey Energy Co. unit Central West Virginia Energy Inc.'s bid to overturn a $10.5 million arbitration award to Bayer CropScience LP in a dispute over a coal sales agreement.

Judge Henry E. Hudson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia found there was no basis for the court to overturn on procedural grounds the decision by a Charleston, W.Va., arbitration panel that ruled in Bayer's favor on Feb. 11.
