Judge: Exxon Can't Stay Appeal In Alaskan Field Case

Law360, New York (May 02, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- ExxonMobil Corp.’s request to delay a judge’s ruling of its appeal to regain its leases for the Point Thomson, Alaska natural gas fields was denied on Tuesday.

Point Thomson, the North Slope of Alaska’s second-largest natural gas field after Prudhoe Bay, is estimated to hold about 9 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves—more than a quarter of all the gas in the North Slope.

Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin has called its development vital to the proposed Trans-Alaska gas pipeline.
