Law360, New York (May 05, 2011, 6:02 PM ET) -- A Costa Rican state-owned utility whose employees accepted $18 million in bribes for contracts from Alcatel-Lucent SA objected to the company's $137 million settlement with the government in Florida federal court, saying it fails to sufficiently punish Alcatel-Lucent and doesn't include restitution for victims.
In a motion for relief filed Tuesday, the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad, which gave Alcatel-Lucent $400 million worth of contracts for wireless telecommunications equipment and maintenance services, said it should be considered a victim of the French company's "organized system of corruption"...
