Law360, New York (September 20, 2011, 2:31 PM ET) -- Spain’s competition regulator said Tuesday that it had launched an investigation into units of Microsoft Corp., probing whether the technology giant improperly curbed the resale of software licenses.
Spain’s Competition Commission, or CNC, said in a brief announcement that the investigation targets Microsoft’s Spanish and Irish divisions, seeking to determine whether unreasonable restrictions have been put on third parties selling the licenses.
Investigators have uncovered information that suggested Microsoft could be in violation of Spanish competition laws, the agency said Tuesday.
