George Clinton’s Malpractice Suit Against IP Firm Pared

Law360, New York (November 08, 2011, 4:44 PM ET) -- A federal judge in Washington state on Monday tossed some claims from singer George Clinton's malpractice lawsuit against intellectual property boutique Hendricks & Lewis PLLC, ruling the Funkadelic frontman cannot challenge the enforceability of a fee agreement upheld in earlier arbitration.

U.S. District Judge Robert S. Lasnik nixed the singer's fraudulent inducement and negligent misrepresentation claims because they challenged a fee agreement that was the subject of a 2009 arbitration between the parties, which the law firm won.
