Firm Fights Subpoenas In Row Over Costner’s $52M BP Deal

Law360, New York (January 20, 2012, 6:44 PM ET) -- Gauthier Houghtaling & Williams LLP asked a Louisiana federal judge Friday to quash subpoenas issued to several former firm attorneys in actor Stephen Baldwin's lawsuit over a $52 million joint venture between BP PLC and actor Kevin Costner's oil cleanup company.

Gauthier argues the subpoenas seek privileged and confidential information unrelated to Baldwin's federal suit, in which he claims Costner and others duped him into selling his interest in the actor's company the day before they closed the lucrative BP deal.
