Microsoft To Pay $60M To Settle Burst.Com Trade-Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (March 10, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- Microsoft Corp. has agreed to pay $60 million to settle a trade-secrets lawsuit brought by Burst.com over streaming media software.

The companies said in a joint statement that they had reached “an agreement in principle” to resolve all claims against Microsoft. Under the settlement, Microsoft also will receive a non-exclusive license to Burst's patent portfolio.
