Free Speech Doesn't Bar Suit Over Ray Charles Songs: Atty

Law360, Los Angeles (September 24, 2012, 8:54 PM ET) -- Ray Charles' charitable foundation should be allowed to sue seven of the late singer's children for trying to reclaim the copyrights to some of his songs from a music publisher because the heirs' conduct is not protected under a California free-speech law, an attorney for the foundation argued on Monday.
