Koch's Suit Over Jefferson Wines Is Stale, 2nd Circ. Says

Law360, New York (October 04, 2012, 7:59 PM ET) -- The Second Circuit on Thursday affirmed the dismissal of billionaire William Koch's lawsuit against Christie's Inc. over his purchase of wine purportedly owned by Thomas Jefferson that later was discovered to be counterfeit, saying Koch's claims against the London-based auction house are time-barred.

In a related case, Koch admitted in testimony that he was aware in the early 1990s that there were questions about the authenticity of the wine, the Second Circuit said. The three-judge panel said Koch was on notice that what he had purchased...
