Jury Awards $3.3M To Banana Farm Workers

Law360, New York (November 06, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Six Nicaraguan farm workers won a $3.3 million jury award in California on Monday after proving that they were rendered sterile by the use of a pesticide called DBCP in the banana plantations where they worked.

Under the ruling in the Los Angeles Superior Court, Dole Food Co. and Dow Chemical Co. share liability for the plaintiffs' claims.
