Del. River Port Authority, Police Ordered To Arbitration

Law360, New York (February 15, 2013, 4:15 PM ET) -- A New Jersey federal judge on Wednesday ordered the Delaware River Port Authority to enter arbitration to end its protracted collective bargaining dispute with DRPA police officers, ruling the authority isn't immune from state collective bargaining laws.

The DRPA, which is a bi-state agency operated by New Jersey and Pennsylvania, said it is immune from collective bargaining laws in both states that govern police and fire officers because its compact doesn't incorporate those laws.
