Inflection Energy LLC, the Second Circuit just handed any remaining oil and gas companies with an interest in New York another unwelcomed, albeit expected, blow. Specifically, on Aug. 19, 2015, the Second Circuit affirmed the 2012 decision of U.S. District Judge David N. Hurd of the Northern District of New York, which terminated a group of oil and gas leases at the conclusion of their primary term because no operations had occurred on the leaseholds during the leases' primary terms.[1]...
