REBUTTAL: NJ Justices Restored Sanity To Bias Deadlines

Law360, New York (June 22, 2016, 12:05 PM EDT) -- On June 15, 2016, the New Jersey Supreme Court unanimously struck down an employer's unilaterally contractually imposed six-month time deadline for a New Jersey employee to file suit against it under New Jersey's anti-discrimination statute, i.e., the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination. In that case, i.e., Rodriguez v. Raymours Furniture Co. Inc., an employee whose knowledge of English was less than proficient, had his disability discrimination case dismissed because it was filed beyond the six-month lawsuit deadline contained in the employment application that the employee was required to sign if he wanted to work for that company....
