A division of Southern Union Co. has agreed to bury the hatchet with 90 Rhode Island residents over a 2004 incident in which illegally stored liquid mercury was vandalized from a Pawtucket facility, leading to a hazardous spill that affected a nearby apartment complex.

San Francisco city officials have asked the federal court overseeing their suit accusing McKesson Corp. of conspiring to inflate the average wholesale price of hundreds of drugs to certify a class of all governmental entities in California, including the state itself, that overpaid for the drugs.

A federal judge has dismissed a purported antitrust class action accusing drug wholesaler McKesson Corp. of conspiring to inflate the average wholesale price of numerous prescription pharmaceuticals beginning in late 2001. The drugmaker still faces several related suits before the same judge.

A federal appeals court has ruled that a proposed class action against the maker of Chicken-of-the-Sea tuna alleging the products contain harmful concentrations of mercury is not pre-empted by regulatory actions of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, overturning a lower court's dismissal of the case.
