CEO Eric Schmidt said Thursday that he would not resign from his post on Apple Inc.’s board despite a probe recently launched by the Federal Trade Commission into whether the overlap between the boards of the technology giants as a result of shared directors violates federal antitrust law.
Schmidt made the announcement at Google’s annual stockholder meeting, formally acknowledging the FTC investigation, which The New York Times reported Monday, citing anonymous sources briefed on the probe.
