Dairy Cooperative Caves In To DOJ In Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (October 02, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Dairy Farmers of America, the world’s largest dairy farm cooperative, has agreed to sell off its stake in a smaller rival to resolve an antitrust lawsuit filed by the U.S. Justice Department, the DOJ said Monday.

As a result of the settlement, filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Kentucky, DFA's partner, the Allen Family Limited Partnership (AFLP), will also sell its interest in the acquisition target, Southern Belle, the DOJ said.
