Law360, New York (October 10, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- AT&T Inc. and BellSouth Corp. may get the green light this week to create the largest telephone company in the country, as the Federal Communications Commission has scheduled a vote on the $67 billion deal for tomorrow.
FCC Chairman Kevin Martin has insisted on the vote in an effort to wrap up the merger before the agency’s 180-day merger review deadline.
The Department of Justice must still approve the merger as well.
