Novell, Microsoft Vie For Quick Win In OS Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (October 08, 2009, 4:18 PM ET) -- Microsoft Corp. and Novell Inc. have filed competing motions for summary judgment in their battle over Microsoft's alleged cornering of the computer operating systems market.

The two, which have been embroiled since 2005 in a dispute over Microsoft's alleged anti-competive behavior, each filed motions to toss aspects the other's case Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

Microsoft asked the court to dispose of the case against it entirely, and Novell asked that some Microsoft defenses be eliminated.
