Law360, New York (November 02, 2009, 2:00 PM ET) -- Delta Air Lines Inc. and the Richard Branson-helmed Virgin Blue Airlines Group moved one step closer to their proposed trans-Pacific alliance Monday when they received preliminary approval from Australia’s competition authority.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission issued a draft determination granting preliminary authorization for the airlines’ proposed joint venture in the Pacific.
The competition authority said the venture would likely have positive competitive effects for air passengers.
