Law360, New York (November 03, 2009, 6:27 PM ET) -- Nursing home pharmacy giant Omnicare Inc. has agreed to shell out $98 million and a Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. unit has agreed to pay $14 million to settle claims that they were part of a wide-scale kickback conspiracy.
The U.S. Department of Justice said Tuesday the settlement would resolve claims in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts that Omnicare took part in several kickback schemes with drug companies and nursing homes and that Weston, Fla.-based Ivax Pharmaceuticals Inc. paid $8 million in kickbacks...
