Law360, New York (December 09, 2009, 5:05 PM ET) -- Russia’s competition watchdog has targeted oil giant Gazpromneft-Ural OJSC for abusing its market dominance in the automotive gas market in central Russia, the latest move in the agency’s continued quest to stomp out anti-competitive activity among Russia’s oil and gas producers.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service said Dec. 2 that Gazpromneft-Ural — an oil producing arm of global energy giant OAO Gazprom — had violated Russia’s Federal Law on the Protection of Competition by fixing and maintaining monopolistically high prices for motor-grade gasoline from 2008 to 2009...
