Chi Mei To Pay $220M After Copping To LCD Price-Fixing

Law360, New York (December 10, 2009, 5:29 PM ET) -- Taiwan-based Chi Mei Optoelectronics has pled guilty and agreed to pay $220 million in criminal fines for its role in a conspiracy to fix prices of liquid crystal display panels.

The U.S. Department of Justice, which filed a one-count felony charge against Chi Mei in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Wednesday, announced the same day that the company had agreed to the plea deal and will cooperate with the investigation.
