Senate Approves Obama's FTC Nominees

Law360, New York (March 04, 2010, 1:57 PM ET) -- The U.S. Senate has backed President Barack Obama's picks for two commissioners at the Federal Trade Commission, appointing a partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges LLP and a senior deputy attorney general in North Carolina to round out the five-member commission.

In a unanimous vote on Wednesday, the Senate approved the nominations of Edith Ramirez, a litigation partner at Quinn Emanuel, and Julie Brill, the chief of consumer protection and antitrust for North Carolina's Department of Justice.
