South African Watchdog Seeks Fines In Milling Cartel

Law360, New York (March 15, 2010, 5:11 PM ET) -- South Africa's Competition Commission has sent its findings of collusion in the wheat milling market to the country's Competition Tribunal for prosecution and has called for hefty fines for three alleged cartel members.

The antitrust watchdog said Monday that targeted companies Pioneer Food Group Ltd., Godrich Million Pty. Ltd. and Foodcorp Pty. Ltd. should each be fined 10 percent of their 2009 profits for their role in the alleged cartel.
