Vertical Price-Fixing Ban Clears Senate Committee

Law360, New York (March 18, 2010, 6:30 PM ET) -- The Senate Judiciary Committee has passed a bill to ban vertical price-fixing, paving the way for a full U.S. Senate vote on legislation that would overturn a controversial 2007 U.S. Supreme Court precedent.

The Discount Pricing Consumer Protection Act, approved by voice vote Thursday, would restrict manufacturers from dictating a minimum price at which venders must sell goods to the general public.
