Law360, New York (April 01, 2010, 6:39 PM ET) -- South Africa's Competition Commission has asked the country's competition court to fine 15 milling companies accused of fixing prices for white maize products, marking the antitrust watchdog's third such case since it began investigating the industry in 2007.
The commission referred the case against a slew of millers — including Pioneer Foods — to the Competition Tribunal on Wednesday, just weeks after the commission sought penalties for some of the same companies over a wheat cartel.
