Law360, New York (May 17, 2010, 2:51 PM ET) -- A Shanghai court on Monday reportedly rejected the appeals of three Chinese Rio Tinto employees who were sentenced to between seven and 14 years in prison for receiving bribes and obtaining commercial secrets.
The official Xinhua News Agency said the Shanghai No. 1 Immediate People's Court denied appeals filed by Wang Yong, Liu Caikui and Ge Minquang, who were sentenced in March to jail terms of 14, seven and eight years, respectively. Wang was also fined 5.2 million yuan ($761,000).
