Korea Fines 19 Airlines In Air Cargo Cartel Probe

Law360, New York (May 27, 2010, 2:29 PM ET) -- South Korea's Fair Trade Commission has reportedly fined 19 airlines, including Korean Air Lines Co. Ltd., Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Air France-KLM SA, a total of about $98 million for their role in an air cargo cartel that has spurred government investigations around the world.

Korean Air received the largest fine at $39.8 million, with another Korean carrier, Asiana Airlines, receiving the second-largest fine at $16.9 million, The Korea Times reported Thursday, citing an unnamed KFTC official.
