Innospec Faces Antitrust Suit Over Fuel Additive Bribes

Law360, New York (July 23, 2010, 7:26 PM ET) -- NewMarket Corp. and Afton Chemical Corp. filed a lawsuit Friday accusing specialty chemical company Innospec Inc. of violating the Robinson-Patman Act and the Virginia Antitrust Act by paying off officials in Iraq and Indonesia to secure sales of Innospec's tetraethyl lead fuel additive.

Richmond, Va.-based NewMarket and Afton lodged their three-count complaint, which seeks treble damages, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia against Innospec and its subsidiary Alcor Chemie Vertriebs GmbH.
